God's Promise (cont.)

What have we learned so far? We are like Mout Zion beacause:
(1.) Mount Zion describes God and we should describe God
(2.) Mount Zion is a dwelling place of God and so are we.
(3.) God loves Mount Zion just as He loves us.

(4.) God worked on Mount Zion. Isaiah 10:12a says, "When the Lord has finished all His work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say..." We are like Mount Zion because God works in each and everyone of us daily. God is the "pilot" of our lives when (and only when) we put our full trust in Him. My pastor, Bro. Ray, said one time that he sees all those bumper stickers that say "God is my copilot," but he feels bad for those people because they have it backwards. God should be the pilot and He should be in control. We should be the copilot and should work alongside God's plans and directions, not the other way around. Anyway, back to the message. God has a specific plan for each of us and is working in us at this very moment to fufill that plan! Isn't it awesome to know that God has a specific and unique plan for each person? Also, He has a specific "strategy" to make that plan come true. Sometimes we may stray away from this strategy and go in our own directions, but God will ALWAYS direct us back to the right path- and back to His plan, if only we're willing to accept His correction.

(5.) God fights for Mount Zion. "... so the Lord Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights." (Isaiah 31:4b) We are like Mount Zion because God fights for us. When we are weak, when we feel all is lost, when we need healing, and when we just can't fight anymore and have given up, God fights for us! God is on our team. Let's make all this a little more personal. Let's say, " When I am weak, when I feel all is lost, When I need healing, when I just can't fight anymore and have given up, God fights for me!" He fights against all temtation, grief, illness, brokenness, discomfort, sin, fear, hopelessness, depression, and many others. And He doesn't just fight, He wins!!!!" In Him we are more than conquerers!(Romans 8:37)

God promises us that we are like Mount Zion. However in order to recieve this promise, we must put our complete faith and trust in Him as our personal Savior and Lord!
